Space Next Door officially opened its doors in Nakuru yesterday and my oh my, a time was had!

The parking lot, usually waiting to be filled for the night, had tents spread across the space.

The whole nightclub was decorated in red and white balloons.

Inside the tents that were on the parking grounds, free food was served; ensuring that all revellers, (myself included) walikuwa na foundation for the plenty alcohol that would be consumed.

Security at the nightclub was tighter than any other night before, with the entrance being manned by over four security guards.

The same security trickled to the parking where more security guards and even police officers in uniform helped ensure the safety of the automobiles.

As you walked into the very packed club, you were immediately met by the servers' smiling faces as they directed you to your seat.

Impressively, orders were tended to in the shortest time possible, even though the place was packed to the brim.

Given that it was end month weekend, Nakuru party people didn't disappoint as the bottle girls constantly ferried very expensive liquor to various tables across the two-storey nightclub.

DJ Joe Mfalme and Kris Darling were the headlining DJs for the night and as soon as they took over the decks, revellers were up on their feet dancing up until dawn.

At the very peak of sherehe, a very huge cake was cut and right after distributed to everyone in the club.

At the same time, every table had cards that thanked the revellers for choosing to party at that particular joint.

So, what does this launch mean for Nakuru's entertainment space?

From my observation, Space Next Door's launch may just be the key to shaking up Nakuru's entertainment scene by bringing competition, especially being so close to one of Nakuru's popular club.

The launch had so many things pointing to it's potential to run Nakuru's entertainment scene, one of them being how the club is borrowing from Nairobi clubs strategies of having bottle girls carrying hilarious signs.

Also, although it's very new to the Nakuru party scene, it's clear to see that the club owners/directors are willing to spend mad chumz to bring in crowd pulling DJs.

What did the club do right?

If there's one thing that everyone loves, is free food. The serving of the free buffet was definitely a win.

The great number of security both inside and outside the club ensured the launch event went super smoothly with no hiccups or drama.

Parking space was also well thought out. No reveller was left feeling stranded about where to park.

What could they improve?

The night club needs proper ventilation. As the night progressed, revellers across the place could be seen sweating; not because of dancing all night but due to the lack of proper ventilation.

But even with the poor ventilation, Nakuru party people didn't mind getting drenched in sweat as they danced the night away.

Now one question remains; will the new bad boy in town be able to withstand Nakuru's curse of big nightclubs dying a few months after they launch? Only time will tell.
