Renowned musician cum Mc, Boniface Kinya Gitau alias Hush BK has given his life to Christ, quitting his life as a secular Musician and a Night club MC after 10 years of being in the industry.

In an exclusive interview with Mtaa Wangu, the ‘Nilisha Kufogeti’ hit maker says he got saved at 6 pm, March 13,2024 at the AIC Shabab. For him this is something he felt had been long overdue.

“This is a transition that has taken years, but I thank God I am now saved. I am young in the faith journey and want to grow and walk in the footsteps of Christ the Lord,” he says.

Asked if he will be quitting his showbiz in clubs and performances which were his source of living, Hush responded by saying that one cannot be preaching water and drinking wine.

Surprisingly, his salvation journey has seen him cancel all shows he had been booked for the month and stepped down as an event organizer in all events that are not aligned to his faith at the moment.

More to it, he will not be releasing the more than 10 secular songs that he had composed.

“Getting saved is a sacrifice you make in life and for me this is a worthwhile course to take. It’s not just shows that I cancelled. I quit drinking and ceased clubbing. For more than 10 years this has been my life and I had to change my story.”

Hush notes that he does not regret anything in his past life as that will be a source of inspiration to many other people like him.

Asked if he will delete content he generated and did as a secular artist he says, “It is something I had considered. Deleting all my music on YouTube and posts on social media, however under the guidance of my reverend he told me there is no need for that.”

He concludes by saying although a lot of things are bound to change, like his friends, work and the lifestyle, he does not regret the choice he made.

“My mum and sister were greatly moved by my decision. Some of my friends and fans might not understand the why, but this is done for a better course,” he says.

Hush has made his debut in his salvation journey, with a gospel song ‘Mwendo’ which has been released on YouTube.
