Oebaism has been a river in which poet lovers swim in.

Known for his penmanship, Wille Oeba alias the ‘Word King’ has always left the crowd wowed by his stage command and his lyrical lines on social justice.

From Dear God, Dear Citizen, Woman of Steel, among other bodies of work, the renown poet has not fallen short to call out the ills in society unapologetically.

He has blatantly written spoken word pieces that he notes at some point made him receive threats to his life. However, this seemed to have fuelled him to pen even better pieces for his audience.

Consequently, the urban spoken word artist has had a great admiration from his audience through the Oebaism movement.

This year, as he turns ten years in the industry, Oeba plans to mark it in a special way.

The 2024 Ford Global fellow, plans to mark a decade in the industry with a special poetry musical orchestra concert.

Oeba who is currently in New York for his fellowship took to his social media asking his fans on a poll, where his next concert should be held between Nairobi and Nakuru.

Speaking to Mtaa Wangu, Oeba notes that the poll had great engagement. Adding that the concert will happen in both cities.

"I got a total of 1,527 responses from the poll with Nairobi leading on a 59 percent mark while Nakuru   41 percent. Therefore, the musical will kick off in Nairobi in September and thereafter be showcased in Nakuru in November, " he reveals.
