How it went down at the After 5 street vibe event in Nakuru city

After a week of intense stress and tight deadlines, the After 5 show returned with a bang.

Following a brief hiatus, the event reclaimed its spot at the Maasai market grounds, opposite Standard Chartered Bank.

Starting shortly after 5 p.m., it initially drew a modest crowd, with many hesitant to brave the biting cold.

Two energetic emcees hyped the crowd with different dance styles to ease them into the show.

Among the attendees were high school students, well-deserving of a break after an intensive week studying van der Waals forces and 'dondoos' reflecting the nation's state.

As darkness deepened, solo performances from various artists captivated the growing crowd.

With a full set stage and blinding lights reflecting on the crowd, Timelines dropped some fire poetic lines as the crowd gave him the time.

Somewhere during this time, a spirited dance competition ensued, pitting millennials against the energetic high schoolers. In that moment, everyone forgot how cold it was, and cardigans and jackets flew right off their bodies.

Hush BK, Nakuru's secular-turned-gospel artist, debuted his first single and further energized the now-sweating crowd with covers of popular gospel songs, building anticipation for the main act.

Finally, the renowned Tamasha band took the stage.

With a captivating lead soloist, harmonious backing vocalists, a skilled keyboardist, a dynamic drummer, and a talented guitarist, they enthralled the audience, both young and old, with reggae rhythms.

With the final chords echoing through the open ground, the After 5 show drew to a close, in what is always a memorable night of music and community.

Hopefully, this time round despite the rain threatening to pour every evening, the show will manage to maintain its momentum and keep the crowds entertained.
