Word King, Willie Oeba has done it again.

In his new release dubbed 'Dear Citizens’, Oeba blatantly expresses how Kenyan political leaders are out to take the nation into a ditch.

In the hard hitting poem, he goes ahead to name these individuals, pointing out their vices.

Speaking to Mtaa Wangu, the urban spoken word artist reveals that his pieces are meant to inspire individuals who will take action and make the world a better place.

It is intriguing how he contextualizes Kenya as a crime scene at the beginning of the video writing, 'Kenya is a crime scene. The voters are guilty until proven innocent for the choices they make.'

Asked what he meant by this statement he says, " This is in relation to how we start off the election with corruption. The whole electioneering process is a crime scene. People vote based on tribal lines and handouts, never on the ideologies that can help this nation.

Some of the lines that wowed many were, “Si juzi muliona, small fish akibreak the law anakujiwa , lakini big fish akibreak the law, Noordin Haji.”

Another statement was, “And this year in six months' time award goes to him, the most chronic liar”, as well as "businesses zina collapse time the current DP  gets paid six figures to talk trash."

It would be expected that he might rub shoulders with people who are mentioned in his pieces.

However, Oeba says this does not happen as much as it used to before.

“Before I used to get threats through messages but that doesn't happen anymore. Currently, I have only seen people saying I am an Azimio puppet, something I equally expected because I was questioning the current leadership,” he notes.

He concludes our interview by saying Kenyans should expect more great pieces, as he looks into his ‘Mungu Anasaidia' tour, adding that he will be having a new piece out every month until the end of the year.

Netizens have taken to social media applauding him for this bold poetry piece. Here are some of the comments;

This guy is too brave for those lines are something else, I hope he won't lose his freedom to keep spitting more reality.

Oeba shares that ‘Dear Citizen’ has had a good reception, adding that his hope is to spark the mind of Kenyan citizens and start a conversation on sound leadership.

At the time of publishing this story, ‘Dear Citizen’ was at 11,000 views, only two days into its release.
