Electric weekend ahead: Mejja, Otile Brown, Mandy and other big names storm Nakuru

Events happening in Nakuru this weekend.
Big names will be in Nakuru as the city ushers in the weekend. Although there are fewer events, the weekend vibe is set to be electric. Mejja (Okwonkwo), Tipsy Gee and Otile Brown, among others, will be performing.
But let us tell you about some events to check out this weekend.
On Saturday, the Ole-Ken Hotel is hosting R&B Rewind, an evening promising to take you back to the soulful vibes of the '90s. With DJ Reignherd on the decks and Jasmine hosting, guests can look forward to smooth live music, a buy-two-get-one-free cocktail offer from 5pm to 8pm, and plenty of street food.
The dress code is 90s street casual, so dig out your old denim and get ready for a nostalgic night out, starting at 5pm.
On the cultural front, the Nakuru Abagusii Festival is taking place on Saturday at The Crane Resort, offering a vibrant celebration of Kisii culture. The event will feature live music, traditional performances, cultural exhibitions, authentic Kisii cuisine and fashion displays, all celebrating the heritage and pride of the Abagusii people.
Performers will include Embarambamba, Smallz Lethal, Vicky Young, Danlee, and Sagero. Attendees are encouraged to dress in cultural attire and immerse themselves in a day of food, music, dance and community.
Alternatively, if you prefer faith-based events, the Nakuru Miracle Crusade is taking place on the same day at Afraha Stadium. Led by Pastor John Ng’otho and hosted by Christ Embassy Kenya, it promises to be a powerful spiritual experience. The crusade starts at 2pm sharp, and free buses will be available from major bus stops around Nakuru CBD and designated areas.
The highlight of the week is The Captain Morgan Yard at the Rift Valley Sports Club on Saturday, with performances from big names like Mejja, Tipsy Gee, Mandy and Jussneera.
DJs on the deck include DJ Bash, DJ Daqchild, DJ Jomba, DJ Rubby and DJ Malaika, with MC Gogo, Azzezah and Collo Blue hosting the event.
Nakuru clubs will also be going all out to make sure you have a great weekend, with top DJs performing and artists making appearances in various entertainment venues.
