As we enter into Easter holiday, excitement permeates through Nakuru city as everyone executes plans for the extended weekend.

Joakim Onguta, a hardworking photographer, shrugged off the holiday excitement, declaring, “It will be work as usual for me. In fact, I’m looking forward to having a lot of customers come for a photo session.”

Mr Oguta sarcastically notes that holidays are for the rich adding that he is not anything close to a rich person.

“I have deadlines to meet and clients to satisfy.”

On the other hand, Joseph Wanyoike, a family oriented man, cannot wait to escape the hustle and bustle of the city.

Mr Wanyoike discloses, “I am taking my family to our countryside home. It is time to unwind and bond with my loved ones as we enjoy the calm breeze of ushago.”

While most people eagerly anticipate the long weekend, it is not  the same for a majority of journalists like Vincent Kimutai.

“Every day is a workday in the world of journalists, especially with the World Rally Championship (WRC) event happening during Easter. I among other journalists are on the frontlines, covering the action,” Mr Kimutai remarks.

For Mr Kimutai, the extended weekend means immersing himself in the world of motorsport, crafting articles that capture the WRC event.
Among the exclusive interviews, Luis Kwanya, stands as the one of the few individuals still hyped with the WRC, his mind already made up in attending before Friday to have a look of the preparations.

“I do not get why people think that this year's WRC is overrated. I understand it is not everyone’s  cup of tea, but there is  something about witnessing those cars tear through the tracks,” he expresses.

Mars concludes that he does not mind being among the few who hype the event as he already has his tickets and looks g forward to the weekend ahead. For him, the long weekend is meant purposely for WRC, as it is just not another event but an exhilarating experience that he wouldn’t miss for the world.
