New construction at Section 58 puzzles residents

Just on your way into town from Section 58 centre, it's not hard to notice that the area is changing.

Cordoned off in a green vinyl barrier the area previously with flowers and trees for sale has been hidden in plain sight.

On one side, flower and tree nursery operators continue their daily activities, while the railway line runs quietly nearby.

At a distance, a sign reading "Railway Crossing" stands precariously, as though it might be carried away by the wind.

Another sign, more sturdy, touts the county government's re-greening project.

Inside the vinyl enclosure, people can be seen moving about, and several individuals are spotted accessing the space. Heavy trucks are also visible, a sign that construction is imminent.

Mtaa Wangu caught wind of this development on social media. Curious, we spoke to a local business owner along the route, who hinted that the hived-off space might be the site of a new petrol station, just like rumours on social media suggested.

It'll only be a matter of time for Nakuru to confirm if indeed this is what the streets claim it to be and how come it is being constructed on Railway grounds.
