My thrilling experience at the Space Pool Fiesta in Nakuru

Different players participate at the Space pool fiesta in Nakuru city.
As I stepped into Space Next Door for the Space Pool Fiesta, it was immediately clear that something big was happening.
Players from various teams wore uniforms with their team logos and names—some using their full names, while others opted for initials or nicknames.
The playing teams were surrounded by their fans; some seated on the seats while others standing. It was clear that the games were a battle of rivals.
From the moment the games started, every successful shot was met with either deafening cheers or groans of disbelief from the fans, whose energy was palpable.
Supporters on both sides pulled off passionate stunts, blowing whistles and vuvuzelas, their excitement occasionally escalating into heated verbal exchanges as they tried to assert dominance.
So intense was the banter, that some fans were forced to step out to allow the game to continue smoothly.
Meanwhile, players who weren’t currently competing sat in clusters, watching the matches on large screens across the venue. Some analysed the ongoing games, while others met with their coaches, refining strategies for their turn at the table.
In the most intense matches, fans would drag chairs close to the pool table, forming a tight circle around the action—leaving just enough space for the players to take their shots. Each move was followed with breathless anticipation as if the outcome carried life-or-death stakes.
As for the waiters and waitresses, they moved swiftly, ensuring every customer was served and that players stayed hydrated as the games continued.
As new competitors approached the podium, the energy in the room shifted. Team fans exchanged places, handing over their batons of support.
The players arrived carrying cue sticks, placing their bags and cases down with precision, opening the cases like prized possessions, and carefully assembling their gear.
Moments before the matches, teams gathered with their fans, engaging in ritualistic chants to intimidate their opponents—who, in turn, responded with their own displays of unity and confidence.
Referees stood at attention, managing the flow of the games, monitoring the clock, and ensuring every player stayed within the time limits for their shots.
The Space Pool Fiesta delivered three nights of thrilling, nail-biting matches, culminating in a grand finale that celebrated Nakuru’s vibrant pool culture.
With a prize pay-out of Sh. 604,000, this was the second-highest in Nakuru’s pool tournament.
