Section 58, or ‘five eight’ as it is fondly referred to by residents, is an estate with plush homes. It is sandwiched between Nakuru’s State House to the North and Bondeni to the South of the Nairobi-Nakuru highway
Located a few kilometres from Nakuru town, Section 58 has evolved into a thriving, semi-autonomous hub, thanks to a surge in businesses setting up shop.
This transformation has not only enhanced its self-sufficiency but also boosted its appeal as a commercial and entertainment hotspot, drawing interest to neighbouring suburbs.
The area’s growth has been fuelled by the presence of key establishments such as supermarkets, eateries, grocery stores, petrol stations, and entertainment joints.

Notable additions include Nakuru’s second branch of Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC), which offers both drive-through and dine-in options, and an ArtCaffé To-Go outlet.
The recent opening of Nakuru’s second Java House branch further cements the estate’s reputation as a lifestyle destination.
Section 58 also caters to professionals seeking office spaces outside the bustling city centre. For healthcare services, facilities such as Equity Afya have established a presence, ensuring residents have access to quality medical care.
For nightlife enthusiasts, Section 58 is the undisputed epicentre of entertainment, rivalling the city centre’s party scene.
Popular nightclubs like Space Next Door and Platinum 7D keep the energy high, while Club Tavern offers a haven for Mugithi music lovers.
The area’s transformation into a town-like hub is further evidenced by its vibrant social activities.
One unmistakable sign of growth is the presence of crusades.
During our visit, a lively gathering was underway, reinforcing the undeniable evolution of Section 58 into a dynamic and self-sustaining community.
