Nakuru is more than just a stopover town, it’s a vibrant hub of art, sports, and entertainment. Whether you are a local looking for something new or a visitor exploring the city’s social scene, Nakuru offers exciting activities every week.

1. Rugby Action

If you love sports, Nakuru’s rugby scene is one to watch. The city is home to two powerhouse teams, Nakuru RFC (Wanyore) and Menengai Oilers, who are currently competing in the Kenya Cup, Kenya’s top-flight rugby league.

Matches run almost all weekends alternating between the Nakuru Athletic Club and the Refinery grounds in Nakuru’s ASK show ground especially now that the Kenya cup season is on.

Besides these games, Nakuru also hosts major tournaments such as the Prinsloo 7s, a thrilling rugby festival featuring teams from across the country.

This attracts passionate fans creating an electrifying atmosphere.

 2. Art Exhibitions at Heroe and Mbaruk Art Galleries

The two offer a space to appreciate stunning local and contemporary artworks.

These galleries feature exhibitions from upcoming and renowned artists, showcasing paintings, sculptures, and mixed media pieces that tell the story of Nakuru’s culture and heritage.

3. Paint and Sip Evenings

This is an event that many have warmed up to in the city. A step up where creativity meets relaxation in Nakuru’s Paint and Sip events.

Participants enjoy guided painting sessions while sipping on wine or cocktails. These events, hosted in cozy spots like Water Buck, Agora’s Galaxarium among other places cater to both experienced artists and beginners looking to unwind.

4. Street Worship Sessions

For those seeking spiritual nourishment in a lively setting, Nakuru’s Street Worship Sessions offer a unique blend of music, and community every Tuesday.

Held in open spaces around the city centre (along Kenyatta Avenue), these gatherings feature live gospel performances and inspirational talks.

The sessions create an uplifting atmosphere, drawing worshippers from different backgrounds to come together in song and prayer.

5. Nakuru Car meet ups  

This is a Paradise for Car Enthusiasts where Nakuru’s car lovers gather for social meet-up, vintage cars, customized rides, and high-performance machines are put on display with some going on sale.

The likes of Nakuru Auto Bazaar display cars and bring both sellers and buyers together in a non-show room set up.

On the other hand, Clubs such as Nakuru Motor Club bring like-minded car enthusiasts for chilled out moments, networking and planning trips around Kenya and abroad on road with fellow car lovers.

6. Poetry and Spoken Word Nights at Nakuru Players Theatre
