Lanet, Pipeline and Sobea threaten to replace Nakuru's iconic posh estates
Milimani, Kiamunyi and Ngata have for a long time been the most attractive estates for the wealthy in Nakuru.
However, it now seems there are new kids on the block. Estates that were previously dismissed as remote are slowly coming up as a favorite especially for young families looking to raise their children away from the chaos of the city.
Mtaa Wangu got to speak to a real estate expert who explained what would attract residents to certain areas and not others.
Mr. Einsten Mjumba, the head of business at Hyssop Properties said most people factor in the growth potential, proximity to social amenities, and the natural form of the area which includes the weather, terrain and fertility of the land.
Here are some of the areas that seem to have a new shine.
Lanet
Lanet has been able to attract many since the construction of Lanet airport was announced. The area that already serves as a residential area with stand-alone bungalows is expected to see an increase of residents.
Investors are also expected to set up amenities in anticipation of the airport. Already, 8 teen lounge, a popular night club is up and slowly becoming a favorite.
Pipeline
Being near The Kenya Pipeline Company, potential land owners eye the numerous workers who work at the company and would like to live near where they work.
Consequently, many apartments are being built in the area for accommodation and apart from that, you can see one or two mansions mushrooming in the area.
Sobea
For those interested in farming, Sobea seems to attract those who would like to own homes in arable land. As an added bonus, those who would want to avoid the noisy, busy city have found Sobea as a suitable place for them as it is in the outskirts of the city.
These estates have truly taken the city by storm and with the coming years they are likely to replace the likes of Milimani, Kiamunyi, Ngata as the preferred estates for the high and mighty.
