Inside Nakuru's clubbing culture and why you are likely to find this type of people

It has been a few months since I moved to Nakuru and since my arrival I have been trying out different clubs where I could have a good time and quench my thirst.

And over the course of my stay here, there are a few things I've found interesting about Nakuru's club culture.

One of the things I have noticed is how small the clubbing population is and how even smaller the club options are.

If you go out every weekend, you are bound to see familiar faces and even become friends.

Apart from the difference in the price of drinks, another thing that sets Nakuru's entertainment venues apart from those in the big city under the sun is the type of revelers who party there.

One of the most interesting people you will find in many of Nakuru's bars are those that have one for the night.

These are the people, both men and women, who tend to have a drink on their table all night, usually sipping a beer or guarana until they catch their unsuspecting prey.

Another type of person to be found in Nakuru bars are the freeloaders.

These are the people in a group, usually dressed in slides or crocs, who barely contribute to paying for the drinks but end up having the most fun, sometimes drinking to the point of blackout.

Finally, the other type of reveller that Nakuru's bars attract are the 'outsiders'. These are people who are mostly from Nairobi, Kisumu or Eldoret.

How do you know they're not your typical Nakuru crowd? They're the big spenders in the clubs, whose drinks are usually accompanied by dolled up bottle girls and lots of flashy lights.

The outsiders are also known for dressing up just to party, unlike the typical Nakuru crowd who show up to clubs in hoodies.

Finally, the outsiders party until six in the morning, a concept that is very foreign to the Nakuru crowd. They mostly party at Platinum 7D, with the few 'adventurous' ones asking to be shown the other hot spots around town.
