This year was marred with an unusually high number of devastating femicide cases reported in Nakuru county, repeatedly sending chills down the spine of our audience.

It is therefore no surprise that three of our most read stories were that of Eileen Cherotich and the follow ups of that heart breaking story.

1. How Eileen Cherotich spent her last day, before her tragic death

This story traced the last steps of Eileen Cherotich, a student at Rift Valley National Polytechnic, before her body was found on the tarmac at the infamous Eveready roundabout.

Mtaa Wangu covered one of the most devastating road crashes that happened this year, leading to the sad death of six-month-old twins.

This story highlights the account of an eye witness and how the crash left him feeling helpless.

5. Eileen's mother gives emotional account of how daughter waited four years to join RVIST

In a follow up to Eileen's death, Mtaa Wangu spoke to her mother who narrated how her daughter's untimely death robbed her of a lustrous promised future.

6. Nakuru cab driver's quick thinking that helped recover stolen vehicle

In a movie-like narration, Mtaa Wangu told the story of how a cab driver noticed and stealthily tracked a cab that had been stolen from Mombasa.

His wisdom and bravery led to the arrest of the suspected thief.
