Arsenal, Man-U fans treat mothers to a fun day at Nakuru referral hospital

Arsenal Kenya Nakuru Branch Chairperson Brian Birario distributes flowers to mothers at the mothers day charity event in PGH on 11th May 2025.
On Sunday Mothers’ day, Arsenal fans arrived at Nakuru County Provincial General Hospital dressed in their jerseys, in a bid to share goodies with the moms in the hospital.
They began by packaging assorted items into small carrier bags to ease distribution.
Interestingly, Manchester United fans also joined the initiative. Their arrival sparked some light-hearted banter about the team’s standing on the Premier League table.
The United supporters didn’t hold back, poking fun and dubbing Arsenal “Netflix FC”—a playful jab referencing their ongoing hope of winning a trophy "next season."
After the lively exchange and entertainment, the care packages were ready. The group began their rounds starting with Ward 4, then moved on to Wards 8 and 18, followed by the female ward, and finally the Margaret Kenyatta ward.
As the mothers received their care packages and a single rose, their faces lit up with smiles—some were surprised to learn it was Mother’s Day, while others were simply touched by the visit.
The fans spent time engaging with the mothers, thanking the nurses for their dedication, and some even joined in prayers while holding hands with the mothers.

The event proved to be about more than just football—it was a reminder of shared humanity beyond rivalry. Once the hospital visit concluded, the group enjoyed lunch together and capped off the day with a watch party at Platinum 7D to watch Arsenal and Liverpool match.
Brian Birario, Chairperson of Arsenal Kenya Nakuru Branch, reflects on the day saying, "Seeing both Arsenal and Manchester United fans come together for a good cause is a powerful experience. It shows the strength in our differences."
"It was a successful day. Being able to celebrate over 250 mothers and make their day memorable made it all worth it," he adds.
