After a brief hiatus from the public eye, Susan Kihika is back, and the internet has plenty to say about it.

While some netizens seem excited to see her return, others have more critical opinions about what this comeback means, and others, as always, make fun of it.

First on the fan list is Willy Oeba, who posted on his X account a photo with his luggage at an airport saying “Imebdi niende nitafute huyu governor wa Nakuru. Operesheni find Susan Kihika 😂.”

Esther Shosh Nadia said sarcastically, “The overworking gavana is working from home....noo...Yues .”

Meanwhile, Barrington Ketuta advised Nakuru residents to be patient, adding, “Maternity leave bado haijaisha, Nakuru people be patient.”

The seat should be declared vacant if possible.” Vans Miruka, in a more critical tone, suggested that the governor’s absence was becoming too much.

Anastacia Mapesa, additionally opined, “Next election, Kenyans must be more than wise. We want leaders who will work for the people and not make things worse for Kenyans.”

Gathumbi Mashi expressed the frustrations of the residents, stating, “Nakuru we are suffering through county government and National.”

Cheruiyot Kennedy Sheriff, similarly noted, “Nakuru is suffering...hata deputy governor yuko wapi?”

Adding to the frustration, Kibet _bull posted comparison photos on his X account, highlighting the difference between Murang’a and Nakuru counties.

While Murang’a shows well-installed cabros on a neatly paved path, Nakuru’s image shows a puddle of water on a main road, clearly hinting at the state of infrastructure in the county.

Meanwhile, _KabiruMuraya drew a direct comparison between Kihika’s recent photos with Millicent Omanga and a milk lorry stuck in a puddle of mud and he said, “Texas v/s Muthenji Sirikwa Ward Kuresoi North Nakuru County.”

Godfrey Nandi pointed a finger at the residents of Nakuru, reminding them of their role in the situation, saying “Reading comments here one might think she is the governor of all other counties apart from Nakuru kaundy. Watu wa Nakuru, stop crying here coz you are the ones who voted for her.

It seems that anytime Gov. Kihika steps back into the spotlight, the public reaction will always remain the same, whether through humour, frustration, or serious critique.

The questions that linger, though- will she rise to meet the expectations of the residents who have been waiting for her return? Will Nakuru see the change they need, or will it be business as usual?
