Man kills dog for biting his gumboots
A man identified only as Brian caused commotion at Satellite estate on Monday evening where he did the unexpected, by punishing a dog till death.
According to locals, Brian said he killed the dog because, “it bit my gumboots yesterday”.
A shop keeper at Satellite, Rose Nyanguthi, says she heard loud noises from her immediate neighbouring shop where she left her shop, to see what was happening, only to find Brian fearlessly chopping the dog's neck, as blood oozed all over the place.
When he was done mercilessly slaughtering the dog, he didn't bother to dump the carcass, but left it. The crowd therefore covered the blood using sand and dumped the carcass miles away from the road.
Ms Nyaguthi says, "What he did is wrong. Animals as well have rights and should be protected."
Rumour has it that Brian is a bhang user. A group of people are heard saying that he is mentally ill and needs to be checked before handed to the police as this is not normal human behaviour.
Some of the residents who knew the owner of the dog, say the dog’s death would be devastating to him, as he reared the dog since it was young.
