A man from Githioro in Bahati sub county has been accused of beating up his mum for allegedly refusing to serve him breakfast.

Mr John Kamau who appeared before Senior principal magistrate Lilian Auma was charged with assaulting his mother, Jane Wambui, causing her bodily harm.

Details of the charge indicate that Mr Kamau committed the offence on December 10 at his mother’s house in Giachonje Village in Githioro location, where he, without any lawful excuse assaulted Ms Wambui with a crude weapon causing her bodily harm.

The court heard that Mr Kamau who was aggrieved that the mother had not served him breakfast, took a wooden stool and hit her on the head, causing her serious injury.

The mother was rushed to the hospital where she was treated before she reported the matter at Githioro police station, leading to the arrest of Kamau.

She filled a P3 form which will be used as exhibit.

The police further took the wooden stool that he used to attack her with which will also be used as exhibit.

Mr Kamau however, denied the charge and pleaded to be admitted on reasonable bond terms.

The court granted him a bond of Sh 20,000 with surety of similar amount with an alternative cash bail of Sh 10,000.

The case will be heard on January 21 next year.
