Former Nakuru Governor, Lee Kinyanjui, has produced yet another poem, that for purposes of this write up we will title, A new kingpin.

From the infusion of sarcasm, jokes and flow of thought, one can indeed tell that the poet has mastered his craft and the literature classes while at Kenyatta University were not a waste of time.

In the poem that has caused a stir online, Mr Kinyanjui highlights matters of national importance that have been a topic of discussion, from the tragic incident that occurred at the Hillside Endarasha Academy to the New Funding Model and lastly the JKIA takeover drama.

Just like any piece of art, an artist’s work is judged and critiqued by the audience and this one was no different.

The comment section on the Facebook post seems to draw different reactions from different users of the social media platform.

@paulmaingi said, “Hail the new king or should we call him "your grace." Like do they care for any life?”

@mukulimahudson noted, “The poem is clear and precise.”

This is the second production by Mr Kinyanjui in a span of two months. The first one, but I paid anyhow, highlighted the tax burden that most Kenyans are being subjected to.

It seems the likes of Willie Oeba and Brian Silweyz should watch out for competition on the poetry scene.

But at the moment, hail the new king.
