How frequent visits to Kinyozi landed Kevo a wife

They say when a man finds a wife he finds a good thing.

Many have found wives in the church or even at family gatherings.

But for Kevo (not his real name), the story is different.

Two years ago, Kevo, then a bachelor, didn’t know that his frequent visits to a Kinyozi, within Nakuru’s Central Business District (CBD), that had a salon as well ,would be the place he would locate his rib.

In a week, Kevo would visit the Kinyozi twice, even when he did not need a shave. This had become his chill spot when running errands in town.

It is here that he created a good rapport with the ladies in the salon section with whom he shared stories about various societal issues.

Kevo revealed to Mtaa Wangu that during one of the visits,  a conversation around bachelors ensued.

“It happened that when I entered, the topic of discussion changed. I cannot remember why they decided to change and focus on life around bachelors, but as the conversation went on, I revealed that I was in fact a bachelor,” he stated.

Little did he know that the lady who had been doing his facial scrub after his shave had gained an interest towards him.

In fact, Jane (not her real name) had decided that since Kevo was single, it was time to mingle.

Jane would later initiate a conversation that led to the exchange of phone numbers and the rest is history.

The two became one in a private civil marriage that took place at the County Commissioner’s office in April 2022.

They are now parents to a six months old daughter whom they have named ‘Blessings’.

Kevo 32, and Jane 26, will be celebrating their one year marriage anniversary in April this year.

As a way of commemorating the role that the Salon/ Kinyozi played in their life, Kevo has opened up a Salon in Nakuru’s Kivumbini estate for his wife.
