The highly anticipated World Rally Championship (WRC) is just around the corner and many preparations are underway.

One of the many preparations that will especially be made by the ladies toward the rally will be beauty .

In regard to these specific preparations, your fairy god-sister is here to offer hairstyle suggestions for the upcoming rally.

As you are already well aware. the rally shall be held at Naivasha. Keeping this in mind, you know I had to consult the weather app for weather predictions for the entirety of the rally period.

According to the weather app, Naivasha will be humid during the rally period with chances of slight rain. Keeping all this in mind, alongside the dust the rally terrain is known for, you’ll need to rock a light hairstyle.

While speaking to Lilian Auma, a hairdresser at Radiant Blaze salon, she shares “the most suitable hairstyles for the rally are those that are light and most preferably washable.”

Lilian shares with Mtaa Wangu that her salon tends to receive an influx of ladies during the rally period.

She additionally notes that she makes suitable suggestions for the occasion from which the ladies can pick an option.

In my opinion, which Lily backs, one of the most suitable styles to rock are passion twists. This protective hairstyle is not only light, but is also washable.

This is a plus in case you want to wash off the rally’s dust. In addition to these perks, passion twists are very cute and can be styled in a variety of ways.

Another recommendation made by Lilian was braids of which she shares, “braids are very versatile and there a couple of varieties to choose from.” Lilian then goes on to list the types of braids you can choose to plait.

“One of the most requested braid styles are the old fashion ghanian braids followed by goddess braids,” Lilian notes.

While making this list of hairstyle options, Lilian is quick to point out that when asking for braids, be sure to ask for knotless ones in particular since they are lighter.

For all my dreadlocked and bald babes, you are good to go as you are.

Some of the hairstyles to avoid include any bulky style such as Fulani braids, any weaves or crotchet styles.

For all my wig girlies, I advise saving them for the rally after parties to avoid a sweaty and itchy scalp.

The last hairstyle to avoid is natural hair, whether relaxed, fro or any other form. Why? Washing the dust off will not be fun.

Secondly, I can’t even begin to imagine combing my hair for the three rally days and especially when nursing a hangover.

With that said, I hope you are ready to cheer your heart out and dance till you drop.

Remember to carry your sunscreen, a hat or two with you and most importantly, fiercely rock your hairstyle.
