In today’s digital age, professionals are increasingly turning to social media not just for networking, but as a platform to document their career journeys, share insights, and build

From young graduates to seasoned experts, career content has become a powerful tool in shaping opportunities and accelerating growth.

‎Career coach Roy Ndombi emphasizes that sharing one’s learning journey online is no longer optional, it is becoming essential. He notes that consistently posting about skills acquired, lessons learned, and industry experiences helps individuals position themselves as thought leaders in their respective fields.

‎“Social media acts as a living portfolio,” he explains. “When you share your journey, you are not just telling people what you can do you are showing them how you think, how you grow, and how you solve problems.”

‎Ndombi advises professionals to move beyond polished achievements and also highlight the process behind their success. According to him, authenticity builds trust and relatability, which are key factors in attracting meaningful career opportunities.

‎"Employers and collaborators are increasingly interested in individuals who demonstrate continuous learning and adaptability," he says

‎He also encourages intentionality in content creation. Rather than posting randomly, professionals should align their content with their career goals.

‎"For instance, someone in agriculture might share insights on farming innovations, while a communications professional could post about storytelling techniques or media trends. This not only strengthens credibility but also ensures the right audience is reached," he notes

‎However, Ndombi cautions against oversharing or losing professionalism. He stresses the importance of maintaining boundaries and ensuring that content remains relevant, respectful, and aligned with one’s personal brand.

‎As the job market becomes more competitive, visibility is proving to be just as important as competence. Professionals who actively share their journeys are more likely to be noticed, remembered, and considered for opportunities.

‎Ultimately, career content is more than just posting online it is about taking control of one’s narrative. By sharing insights and growth experiences, individuals can open doors, inspire others, and build lasting impact in their fields.
