In Her Father's Footsteps: Faith Njenga Takes On The Flower Business

Florists are already banking on Valentine's Day to make a catch.
Rose Flowers that are associated with love will be in high demand and the florists are doing all in preparation to reap big from their businesses.
Faith Njenga,27, who is a florist at Nakuru City’s Maasai Market stall number 98 Northway Florist says she is optimistic that this is a moment for a boom in her business.
The dealer in flowers used during birthdays, funerals and weddings says all is set for this year’s Valentine's ensuring a stock for rose flowers that are on demand during this season.
“We are doing all we can to ensure we put a smile on the lovers as they mark this year’s Valentines’ Day. We can’t afford to fail them,” says Njenga.
It is in this spirit that Northway Florist has lined up great goodies for customers during this love season, among them unique flowers, packaging, and gift hampers that come with chocolates, wine and scented candles at a cost ranging from Ksh 4,500 to Ksh 10,000.
She is however quick to note that the flower packaging will cater for all.
“Our pricing this season caters for everyone with one single piece of rose flower going at Ksh.50 while the larger ones range from Ksh.1000 depending on the pieces packaged,” says Njenga.
She reveals that the flower business was started by her Father Mr.James Njenga 6 years ago before he travelled abroad paving way for her to continue with the business.
Faith, who has a background in Information Technology from Nakuru-based Rift Valley Institute of Business Studies admits that her interest in flowers is what has continued to propel the business since she took over in 2017.
She sources her flowers from flower farms in Njoro and Naivasha.
